All workshops are in a classroom setting so there is no need for turn-out gear. 

For those signed up for the Fully Involved workshop (day two only), you may stay and attend the day three workshop with Curt Isakson.

Curt Isakson Gallons Per Second

Curt “Ike” Isakson is a 30+ year veteran of the fire service. He is currently a Battalion Chief for Escambia County Fire Rescue in Florida where he has worked for the last 19 years. Curt previously worked 9 years for Pensacola Fire Department where he was assigned as the company officer on Rescue 31. His fire service experience started at a young age as a Junior Firefighter with the Midway Fire Protection District and rose through the ranks to Captain. Curt has worked in volunteer, career, and combination departments.


Mark VonAppen Fully Involved Leadership

Mark VonAppen, a member of the fire service since 1998, is assigned to the suppression division where he holds the rank of captain. He is a committee member for California State Fire Training and has contributed to the development of Firefighter Survival and Rapid Intervention curriculums. Mark has been published in Fire Engineering Magazine, Fire Service Warrior, and is the creator of the fire service leadership blog FULLY INVOLVED. He is an instructor for the Santa Clara County Joint Fire Academy, a recruit Instructor for Palo Alto Fire, an academy instructor at Evergreen Community College, and a member of the “Nobody Gets Left Behind” training group. He has been involved in public speaking since 2005


  • Leadership & Tactics for yesterday, today, and tomorrow's fire officer. This program will assist the existing officer as well as significantly prepare tomorrow's officer for success. Proven Leadership styles that work in the firehouse and on the fireground will be covered. This program will also cover fireground tested tactics that focus on reducing property loss and saving civilian lives. Regardless of attendees position they will leave more inspired to lead and more confident to act on the fireground.

  • FULLY INVOLVED is geared toward professionals who wish to expand their abilities in leadership. This presentation is aimed at anyone who wishes to lead at any level. FULLY INVOLVED is rooted in improving team performance and has application in both the public and private sectors. FULLY INVOLVED has worked for over 40 years in professional football, the fire service, and applies to the business world as well. Thousands of fire service professionals have attended the FULLY INVOLVED Leadership Seminars and are now among the involved. "Getting team members to pull towards a common goal is a key component in successful operations. FULLY INVOLVED gives students the tools to create a pact that is applicable to all levels of the organization.
